Introduction
This might be the biggest update since GPT 4. You can now create images within ChatGPT. What OpenAI has done is it’s taken DALL·E 3 and GPT 4, and it’s combined the two together, so you can type in prompts to create completely new pictures or you can have ChatGPT generate the prompts for you. There are many things that you can do with this DALL·E 3 ChatGPT update: you can add text to images, change the size of your images, and easily download these images as well.
Activating Dolly 3
Now, to activate this feature, hover over GPT 4 and scroll down to select DALL·E 3. You can generate images in ChatGPT by typing prompts like “create me a 3D cartoon cowboy riding on his horse.” This allows ChatGPT to generate the full prompt for you. You can paste in AI image prompts if you would like, but right now, ChatGPT will help you generate this prompt to display what you are asking for.
Generating Images
Once you send the prompt, ChatGPT opens a new box with DALL·E 3 creating images. It will generate four completely different results, allowing you to choose which ones you want. All four images load in, and you can see the amazing pictures, even including text within the image, like “wild west” on a sign.
Modifying Images
When you want to modify an image, note that the images are numbered from left to right, top to bottom: the top left image is one, the top right is two, the bottom left is three, and the bottom right is four. For example, if you like image one and want to change the sun to a moon, you can specify this, and ChatGPT will make those modifications with DALL·E 3.
Interacting with Images
To interact with the images, click on the image, and on the right-hand side, you will see the prompt which you can copy. The image generated with DALL·E 3 can be downloaded by hitting the download button, adding it to your downloads.
Using AI Art Studio
If you want to store your images, you can use an AI Art Studio, which you might have used for MidJourney. You can now use it for DALL·E 3 and ChatGPT. Store all your art, see the prompts used, and organize your images by adding them to your gallery. This way, you can keep track of your creations and their prompts.
Adding Text to Images
If you want to add text to an image, you could do it in Photoshop, but with DALL·E 3 and ChatGPT, you can ask to add text directly within the image. For instance, if you want the text “the wild west” in an image, you can request this, and ChatGPT will attempt to add the text to the image. If the text isn’t exactly right, ChatGPT can create a new image with the desired style.
Image Resolution
ChatGPT and DALL·E 3 can produce images in various resolutions. You can create vertical, horizontal, or square images. For example, horizontal images can be 1792 x 1024, square images 1024 x 1024, and tall images 1024 x 1792. You can specify the resolution size before generating the image.
Comparing Prompts
You can compare prompts from MidJourney to ChatGPT. Paste prompts into ChatGPT to generate images similar to those from MidJourney. You can see how ChatGPT’s DALL·E 3 handles prompts and compare them to images generated from other platforms.
