[Solved] Getting Failed to write engine file error on compiled BAS Browser automation studio

May 20, 2024

If you are facing a problem at the time or compiling or running a compiled Browser automation studio Bot I have found a perfect solution for this problem but before I show you the problem’s solution wouldn’t you like to know why this happens.

Why This error appears

Actually, this error comes if you have activated the Database module in your bot and That database is not able to connect to the server.

Steps for the solution

  1. Got and open module manager of BAS
  2. Search for “database”
  3. if a tick is there against the database just uncheck and restart your browser automation studio.
  4. when you come you will find the red alert icon is gone from the “show database” tab on the menu ribbon

And now you can try again to compile and send this new compiled version of your bot to your client it should work without any error.

Or you can ask your client to do the following steps.

Ans your client to remove the BAS engine from the C:/user/appdata/local directory, now your client will not get “Failed to write engine file” but may get a message that will say “Run without database” as your client to use this option, and script will run fine after this.

I hope you will like the solution let me know if you still have any problems. I provide paid support via anydesk.
